Putting Children First and Kristine Good, BSN,RN, are piloting a new program called Buddy Up For Breastfeeding throughout the corridor and we are helping get the word out to advertise for volunteers for Pemberton. There are so many wonderful moms in Pemberton that could really help out new mothers in our community.
The Buddy Up for Breastfeeding program is an innovative and effective approach to support new mothers with information, support and assistance to enjoy breastfeeding and prolong the duration of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months and beyond. It is a telephone based peer support program. Volunteers are given 6 hours of training to help them support new mothers.
