The BC Luge Association, in partnership with Luge Canada, is targeting its next generation of luge athletes with Summer Talent Identification Camps in Whistler.
Athletes will receive an introduction to the sport of luge, and its equipment, prior to participating in a series of dry-land physical testing exercises to showcase agility, flexibility and all-around athletic ability. The day will culminate with a road luge sliding session to build a familiarity on the luge sled.
Camp coaches will be looking for athletes age 8-14, with strong overall fitness, those who demonstrate a keen interest in the sport, and a willingness to learn.

On July 13 and 14, 2013, the Whistler Children's Festival turns a whopping 30, and to celebrate its almost grown-up status it is moving to the heart of town at Whistler Olympic Plaza in Whistler Village. The two-day festival is the must-do family event of the summer, with workshops, activities, animation and roving characters, and a main stage that features musical and performing acts by award-winning entertainers, such as Ache Brasil, the Vancouver Circus School, and Major Conrad Flapps. Favourite workshops like making dream catchers, carving soap stone, and learning circus moves will still be available, along with new ones like making hand felt pals, circus hats, and your own sidewalk chalk.
